An eye emergency is any instance where you have a chemical, foreign body, or some type of injury that causes pain. This can range from a chemical burn to taking a baseball to the eye.
If you have a chemical or a foreign body in your eye, we recommend an eye flush. This will hopefully remove the chemical/foreign body and prevent further damage to your eye.
Flushing your eye is fairly simple:
Flush your eye for at least 10 minutes. Due to the way your eye sits in your head, as well as the interactions from your eyelid while blinking, there is the potential for some of the contaminant to have found its way underneath your eyelid.
